My 2013 New Year's resolution is to get my camera off of auto mode so, I'm hoping, this project will be a way to stretch my photography and the way I look at the world around me.

The Rose Garden is coming to life! I'll have to plan on getting downtown early for the next few weeks so I can get morning shots. Yay!

Mini cupcakes from Beckers Bakery in Manhattan Beach. mmmmm. "Only nuts we have in the bakery are the workers." Love them! Then we watched a surfer from the pier. Turtle loved the "water."

The top photo is how Turtle felt the safest at the pool. She was in no way interested in going in the water but loved watching all of the kids swim. When I did finally get her out of the towel storage, she decided to share a cookie with "Pickey."

Pretty landscaping at the hotel. While dada was in meetings, Turtle and I got to enjoy the sun and the sights.
March 22, 2013
Turtle kickin back on our balcony. The air conditioner in the room was a mess so we were so happy to be able to open the door for fresh air. Turtle loved being able to "go outside" and I didn't have to worry (except for the sippy cups that rolled to their deaths).

Photos from Olvera Street in Los Angeles. I loved the background of old buildings mixed with new "treasures."

Stop on our way down I-5. We tested our french fry theory on Turtle again and because of what happened when we reached the Grapevine, there will be no more french fries in her life. So sad!

Spring training! Check out that follow-through. She has her sippy cup in her left hand and her fruit snacks by her feet. The next Timmy Lincecum starting her training.

I gave Turtle a snack so she dragged her table and chair over where she could watch "Pickey" and eat. I love the feeling of the whole scene with the lighting.

Found this plant in the neighborhood around work. Not sure if they stay standing like that but I thought they were pretty.

My latest tattoo and my most painful. Oh goodness, I never imagined how much a leg would hurt. It was so worth it though because I love my turtle family.
March 11, 2013
Turtle decided she was going to use a block to eat her yogurt tonight. Fine with me as long as some of the yogurt makes it in her mouth.
March 9, 2013
I had spotted these "Pickey" while driving to Turtle's daycare so we took her by one night. She was over the moon!

Indoor soccer is not an easy photo task but I like how this one came out with my niece clear and the ball spin. Her team lost but it was a good, tough game.
March 6, 2013
It was such a beautiful spring day so Turtle and I got out in the backyard for awhile. She loved it!

One of Turtle's favorites...Emery. After work/daycare, we watch the "Emery" trains go by with much excitement...hers, not mine.

Sitting here trying to think of something to type and all I can think of is how badly I need to weed this flower bed. Must be my mother in my head because there is not much I like to do less than weed. :-)

Sometimes I feel like a turtle mama with a rabbit child. I think when my Turtle outgrows these, I am going to adopt them for myself. So cute.

Church courtyard down the street from work. It's so peaceful that imagine it is a great place to sit and think, or read, or play Candy Crush Saga.

Another of my favorites in Capitol Park. This guy was fun to watch. He made it through most of the orange before some noisy women came by and scared him off.
February 25, 2013
Another pretty flower from Capitol Park. I really hate I have included so many photos of flowers but I just love them and they are what I see everyday sooooo flowers it is!! :-)

This horse was made for me by my grandpa when I was little. My dad restored for Turtle and she loves it! I wish my grandpa could have seen her enjoy it too.
